Services

Acquisitions

Two decorative pears, one black and one beige with handwritten script, resting on a paper plate against a plain white background.

No two projects are alike; we deploy a highly tailored approach developed to meet each individual client’s interests and goals. For buyers, we source & evaluate artworks for potential purchase from an extensive global network of galleries and auction houses in addition to private collectors and dealers, leveraging our access to works throughout the trade in both the secondary and primary marketplaces. We analyze all proposed acquisitions, vetting attributions, provenance and condition as well as market history and comparables, and negotiate purchases on our clients’ behalf.

Sales

Abstract painting divided into two panels, featuring energetic brushstrokes in black, blue, red, and green on a white background.

Through her auction house training, Emma Kronman has ample experience in the process of de-acquisition. We apply a bespoke, strategic analysis to all sales, from single objects to large-scale collection dispersal projects, and have extensive expertise in estate liquidation. With careful attention to each client’s specific goals, we analyze, recommend and oversee platform-agnostic sale strategies to maximize our client’s objectives, whether financial or philanthropic.

Collection Management

A colorful painting of a yellow horse standing on a landscape with mountains and a rainbow in the sky, painted in an abstract style with vibrant brushstrokes.

Helping our clients care for the works in their collections - whether it be a new acquisition or a long-held family heirloom – is a key part of what we do. We advise on and facilitate framing; conservation; shipping & installation/de-installation; lighting; and storage, and provide guidance for ongoing collection record-keeping.

Conservation

A still life painting featuring a bowl of various fruits including apples and pears, with some blackberries and leaves. Butterflies are present, one near the top right on a leaf and another flying near the left side. The background is a plain, neutral color.

Our clients want to live with their artworks but also be responsible custodians – part of our job is to help find ways to bring the works in your collection to life while keeping them safe and stable. We partner with a diverse and highly specialized global network of conservators to assist with client needs. This includes pre-acquisition condition analysis; post-acquisition conservation; and advice & oversight for long-term monitoring.

Valuations

A sculpture of a human figure, made from a material resembling stone or marble, displayed on a stand against a dark background with lighting highlighting its features.

Whether you are dealing with a loss or damage or simply wanting to ensure your collection is appropriately protected against the unforeseeable, we have experience overseeing appraisals of all types. We recommend and work closely with private appraisers as well as valuation firms to manage the production of appraisals and to provide advice on insurers & their policies.

Museum Loans

Painting of a chessboard with red, black, and green squares, featuring a hand, a black queen chess piece with gold accents, a small blue elephant, and a silhouette of the state of Texas.

Working with a museum to share your artwork with a wider audience can be an exciting aspect of collecting, though it also requires risk awareness and logistical management. We work with our clients to receive and evaluate institutional requests, and also seek out such opportunities when aligned with a client’s objectives. This includes evaluating opportunities, venues, and insurance considerations as well as coordinating related paperwork and logistics. We have worked with institutional partners across the U.S., U.K., and Europe to facilitate exhibition and long-term loans.

Long-Term and Estate Planning

A botanical illustration of various fruits including cherries, bananas, a green pod, and small yellow fruit on a plain background.

Collections and their principals change over time, and so do their needs and interests. We work closely with collections that are growing and also help shepherd those that are changing direction.  We take pride in addressing personal considerations along with practical ones, and approach each project with thoughtfulness, comprehensive market expertise, and discretion.

Philanthropic Guidance

Many of our clients are supporters of institutions and art historical projects around the world. We are dedicated to facilitating these efforts, and committed to working with you as a thought partner to develop and articulate your philanthropic goals. Our creative and strategic approach and extensive network throughout the art world position us ideally to implement your vision and realize meaningful outcomes.
